Bernard “Mack” Levine, 82, of State College, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017, at Juniper Village at Brookline, State College.

Born January 10, 1935, in Manchester, NH, Bernard was the son of the late Jacob and Fredrica Richmond Levine. On August 24, 1988, in Manchester, he married Susan Kingsbury Downar, they had been married nearly thirty years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Jerry Jerome Levine, of Corpus Christi, TX, Daniel Levine, of Manchester, Sharyn Chase, of Philadelphia, Heidi Levine of Seattle, WA; two step-children, Lynda Downar, of Tampa, FL and James Downar, of Seattle; twelve grandchildren; One great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, Bernard was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Fleet Levine and his brother, Raymond Levine.

Bernard was a 1955 graduate of Central High School in Manchester, NH. He had three master degrees. Mack served in the United States Army.

Mack and Susan owned and operated SNM Graphics – Susan “N” Mack Graphics – in New Hampshire for nine years. Prior to that he worked door to door sales.

After retirement and relocating to State College, he was a volunteer at Mount Nittany Medical Center for seven years, serving mainly as a cashier at the snack bar.

He was an active Odd Fellows Member for over twenty-five years both in New Hampshire and in State College. He was also an active member with the Boy Scouts in New Hampshire.

A private graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Centre County Memorial Park.

A Memorial service will be at 3 p.m., on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Congregation Brit Shalom, 620 E. Hamilton Ave, State College, with Rabbi David Ostrich officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Mount Nittany Health Foundation, 1800 East Park Avenue State College, PA 16803.
