Obituary of Betty Irene Borger, 86

Betty “Irene” Rowles Borger, 86 of rural Julian, formerly of Mosh-annon, went to be with Her Lord, on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Irene was born on June 10, 1931, in Clearfield. The late Irvin and Elsie Folmar were foster parents to Irene. Irene was a 1950 graduate of Clearfield High School. On June 15, 1951, she married Robert L. “Bob” Borger who preceded her in death on January 8, 1993.

Irene was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughter Esther C. Borger, of rural Julian; her son, Lewis A. (Lorna) Borger of Windsor, Colo. She is also survived by her Shih Tzu, Cleo. Irene is also survived by her grandson, Robert T. (Rosemary) Borger, of Fort Collins Colo.; her granddaughter Stephanee M. Borger, of Oakland Calif.; and also her great-grandson William Borger.

Irene is a member of Milesburg United Methodist Church, a former member of Moshannon United Methodist Church, The Methodist Council, she was instrumental in the organizing of the Snow Shoe Elementary School , and the Mountaintop Swimming Pool. She was co-owner of Borger Carpet and Cleaning Service. Irene and her friends would gather once a month for the Club Meetings.

In addition to her foster parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Timothy L. Borger; and her brother William J. Folmar.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 12:00 Noon at The Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg. Family and friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 Noon time of the services, with Pastor Catherine Dittman and Pastor Ronald E. Baker officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park, College Township, Centre County.
