Betty Marie Yarnell Ardry, 88 of Howard, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the Susque-View Nursing Home in Lock Haven. She was born in Bellefonte on July 11, 1921 a daughter of the late Roy & Charlotte Tressler Yarnell.
On March 12, 1947 she married Howard G. Ardry, who survives at home.
She attended Bellefonte High School. She was a homemaker and had worked at Sylvania and the Bellefonte Match Factory.
She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Snydertown. She camped at the Grange Fair in her earlier years. She enjoyed embroidering pillow cases and giving them as gifts. She also enjoyed quilting.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter; Wanda Marie Meredith and husband, Jack of State College, a son; Willis Wayne Ardry and wife Margie of Howard, a brother; Edward Yarnell of Pleasant Gap and three grandchildren; Wayne, Mark, and Tom Ardry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers; Harrison, Kryder, David and Willis Yarnell, and a granddaugher; Ann Heather Meredith, in 2003.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 773 Snydertown Rd., Howard, with Ruth Jensen, Vicar officiating. Burial will be in Snydertown Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 6 – 8 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard, Pa.
