Billy Dean Stover died on April 23, 2017, at his home. He was born October 9, 1922 in Akron, Ohio, a son of the late Victor T. and Ottie C. Harter Stover. On October 9, 1946, he married Betty M. Byers Stover who preceded him in death on January 9, 1972.

Billy served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 78th Lightning Infantry Division, 311th Infantry Regiment, Timberwolf Company A. He was a first scout and crossed the Ludendorff Bridge at Remagen, Germany. He was a part of the occupation army and was honorably discharged in 1946.

Mr. Stover was a partner with his brother and father in the Square Deal Garage in Millheim for 40 years. They also sold International Harvester farm equipment. Billy was a member of the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Aaronsburg. He enjoyed traveling with his daughters, hunting in his younger days, and started bowling later in life at the Millheim Lanes.

Surviving Billy are two daughters, April A. Cole (Herb), and Virginia M. Hosterman (David) both of Aaronsburg; six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, June Haney, of Denver, CO and a brother Dale, of Aaronsburg. Billy was preceded in death by his siblings; Betty Jean Stover, Donna Mae Stover, Elaine G. Shawver, and Earl Stover.

Friends will be received from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, April 26th at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. The funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 27th at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Aaronsburg with Reverend Dawn Marie Meier officiating.
