Brett W. “Pizza” Lucas, 40, of Bellefonte, died on Monday, October 7, 2013 from a heart attack. He was the son of James E. Lucas and Nancy C. Lucas, both of Bellefonte and both of whom predeceased him.
On Oct. 12, 2002, Pizza married Rachael M. Bonchack, who survives at home with the couple’s two children, Tyler and Claire. Also surviving are his brother, Corey, and his four children, Reece, Cayden, Quinn and Kendall; his wife’s parents, Mike and Jean Bonchack; his brother-in-law, Matt Bonchack, and his daughter Natalie; and his close friends, Denny Mason and Frannie Mason, his wife, with whom he lived for 15 years.
Pizza graduated from Bellefonte High School in 1991 and attended The Pennsylvania State University for four years. For the past six years, he was the assistant Manager of the Bellefonte office of Nittany Bank, now National Penn Bank.
Pizza was an avid and knowledgeable sports fan with a fierce loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys, the Baltimore Orioles, and all Bellefonte athletic teams. He liked to hunt but loved to tie flies and go fishing with his son, daughter and father-in-law. He had a great love as well for his dogs, Izzy, Cash, and Willie, and the five dogs at the Mason home.
Pizza was a good man and a loyal friend who had a zest for life and a wonderful, dry sense of humor. His greatest trait, however, was his adoration of his son Tyler, and daughter, Claire, a deep abiding love that was evident to everyone who knew him.
