Obituary of Caroline B. Brungard , 86

Caroline B. Brungard, 86, of Bellefonte, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte.

Born in Curtin Township on Feb. 1, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Vernon and Mildred Woodring Confer. On May 6, 1944, she married Ralph Robert Brungard, who died Dec. 10, 1973. She was employed in the housekeeping department at Centre Crest and she also did private housekeeping. She was a member of The Blanchard Church of Christ. She was involved with the Bellefonte Senior Citizens, and enjoyed participating in crafts and bingo during her stay at Centre Crest.

Surviving are a daughter, Dessie Confer George (Paul), of Russell, Pa.; a step-daughter, B. Ann Peter (Leroy), of Beech Creek; a daughter-in-law, Audrey Kellander (Bob), of Beech Creek; two sons, Larry Lee Brungard, of State College, Ralph Confer Brungard (Karen), of Gouverneur, N.Y.; a step-son, William Arthur Brungard (Sharon), of Marshville, Mo.; a brother, William A. Confer (Jane), of Boalsburg; 25 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two step-sons, Robert and Franklin Brungard; four sisters, Trenelva Peters, Eleanor Smith, Louise Leathers, and Marjorie Joy; and a brother, Pete Confer.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard, and 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at the Blanchard Church of Christ, 161 Beach St., Blanchard. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the church, with the Rev. Dr. Russell J. Moldovan officiating. Burial will be in Baptist Cemetery, Blanchard.
