Obituary of Catherine Wayne

Our beloved wife, mother, MomMom, sister, aunt and friend, Catherine Louise Bailey Wayne passed away peacefully at her home on July 27th, 2015 surrounded by her family.

She was born November 13th, 1943 to Norman and Louise (Rogers) Bailey in Philipsburg PA.

In 1961, she married James Wayne and they began their journey together. She supported him throughout his career in the United States Navy developing lifelong friendships along the way.

Settling in Spring Mills, she opened her home and shared her love of crafts by hosting “A Seven Mountains Gathering”.

Her emphasis in life was establishing a home where all felt welcomed, accepted, and loved. Cathy was insightful and used this unique gift to help all those who sought her advice.

She is survived by her husband and children, Dawn (Todd) Moss, Jill (Andy) Keller, and Thad (Suzanne) Wayne.

She leaves behind her most treasured legacy of ten grandchildren who are grateful for her love, support, and friendship; Kaitlyn, Ashley, Andrew, Megan, Kellen, Karli, Kristopher, Collin, Evan, and Tanner.

Cathy is also survived by her siblings Sam, Roger, Mike, and Mary.

She was welcomed to her eternal home by her by her parents, brothers Dick and Jack, and sister Jennie Lee.
The family would like to thank Dr. Oncu, Julie, and the staff at DaVita for their support.

Services will be held Saturday August 1st at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 842 Whitehall Road, State College. Public visitation will be from 10-11 am with the funeral immediately after. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
