Charles H. Hassinger, Sr., 83 of Bellefonte, Pa. passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born on June 23, 1933 in Bellefonte, Pa. the son of the late Gilbert & Dorothy Lucas Hassinger.

On January 26, 1973 he married Nancy Robinson Wenrick Hassinger who survives at home.

Charles retired from Marblehead/Hawbaker after many years of service.

He was a life member of Walker Twp. FIre /Police and the Bellefonte Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Zion Community Church. He enjoyed attending the Grange Fair.

He proudly served his country for over 23 years of service in the Army National Guard.

Charles is survived along with his wife six sons; Richard Robinson of Pleasant Gap, Charles Jr. Hassinger Jr. of Bellefonte, Steve (Violet) Hassinger of Mill Hall, and Donald Hassinger of Lewistown, Bruce Wenrick of Pleasant Gap, and Kevin (Brenda Catherman) Wenrick of Port Matilda, four daughters; Jane (Denny) Tibbens of Bellefonte, Lorna (Denny) Harvey of State College, Mary (Ron) Oswalt of Bellefonte and Teresa Bartholomew (Jeff) of Williamsport, two brothers; Gilbert “Pete” (Sharon) Hassinger of Denver, Co., and Philip Hassinger of Bellefonte, two sisters; Eleanor “Sis” Leigey of Bellefonte, and Dorothy (Ray) Lair of Bellefonte, 21 grandchildren including grandson Jason Wenrick whom he raised, and 34 great-grandchildren and a special great-grandchildren Grace and Chris.

He was preceded in death by a sons; Timothy Hassinger & Robert Mann, and a brother; Bill Hassinger,

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Community Church, 3261 Zion Rd., Bellefonte, with the Pastor Scott Brown officiating. Friends and family will be recieved from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Burial will be at the Zion Cemetery with Military Rites at the church.
