Charles I. Heckman 94, of Hublersburg, passed away on Thursday December 27, 2018 at Centre Crest. He was born in Hublersburg on May 11, 1924, a son of the late Willliam Boyd and Mary Heltman Heckman. He retired from Centre Engineering of State College and had previously been employed by Murata Erie for many years.

He was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church, Hublersburg, the Pleasant Gap American Legion and the Bellefonte V.F.W. He was a charter member of the Walker Township Fire Company and a member of the Marine County League.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching Pirates baseball. In his earlier years he enjoyed playing baseball and soccer. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines during world War II.

He was united in marriage to Sara Dunkle on Nov. 20, 1945 and she survives at home. Also surviving are two sons, Carroll Heckman of Hublersburg and Glenn ( Debra) Heckman of Bellefonte, four grandchildren, Guy, Wayne, Mark, and Kelly Heckman and two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Libby Heckman.

Memorial services will be held on Monday Dec,. 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard, with Pastor Keith Koch officiating. Friends will be received for 1 hour prior to the service.
