Obituary of Charles Walls, 67

Charles Edward Walls, 67, of Boalsburg died Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Born March 20, 1949 in Harrisburg, PA, he was the son of the late Richard C. and Blodwen Humphrey Walls of Reynoldsville. On June 10, 1972, he married Joyce Elaine Long who survives.

Chuck was a 1967 graduate of DuBois Area High School and a 1971 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Chuck was a licensed professional engineer who designed, developed and maintained public works project throughout his career. Outside of his work, he enjoyed photography, riding his bike and brushing up on Civil War history.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and two sons: Karen E. Walls of Markleysburg, Andrew P. Walls of State College, and Brian E. Walls (Abbie) of Blackstone, MA. He is also survived by one brother: Robert A. Walls (Debbie) of Scranton and a granddaughter: Andrea Nora Brindle of Markleysburg.

A celebration of Chuck's life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church in Boalsburg. Friends are invited to join the family for a reception to be held at the church beginning at 9 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:30.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Team Zion c/o Zion Lutheran Church Boalsburg, a group dedicated to raising money for brain cancer research or to the charity of your choice.
