Obituary of Chester L 'Chet' Gower Jr., 58

Chester L. “Chet” Gower, Jr. 58, of Clarence, after a short illness, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at his home. Born on October 28, 1959, in Slatedale, PA, he is the son of Chester L. Gower, Sr and the late Janet Frantz Gower. On December 22, 2016, in Snydertown, PA, he married Veronica A. “Vicki” Stover, who survives at home.

Chet is a 1977 graduate of Slatedale High School. He is of the protestant faith. He was a driver for FedEx for 15 years, starting in Fort Meyer, FL before transferring to the Snow Shoe. PA operation.

Chet loved to ride his 4-wheel side by side, affectionally known as his buggy. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, and being with his family and friends. He was a proud member of the Snow Shoe Rails to Trails.

Chet is survived by his father of Lehighton, PA, wife of Clarence, one daughter, Stephanie Flexer and her husband, Eric, of Palmerton, PA. and one son, Kevin Gower also of Palmerton, PA.

Along with his mother, Chet was preceded in death by one step son, Jeremy Alterio, who passed away on April 7, 2016.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 6-8pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St. Snow Shoe, PA. Funeral service will be on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Shock officiating. Burial will be private.
