Obituary of Christine M. Shuman , 42

Christine M. Shuman, 42, of Johnstown, passed away Monday Oct. 26, 2009, at home. Born Nov. 17, 1966, in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of James E. and his wife, Joan P. McCloskey, of Lexington Ky., and Joan M. Rider Houtz and her husband, Richard C., of Bellefonte.

She was a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School and a homemaker. She was a member of the Pike Grace Lutheran Church. She was very active with the Central Cambria PTO and the high school marching band.

Along with her parents, she is survived by her daughter, Kiley M. Shuman, who survives at home; one sister, Cynthia Jo Walizer, of Bellefonte; and two brothers, James D. Holderman, of Howard, and Gregory L. Holderman, of Mingoville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, her ex-husband, Daniel P. Shuman, and her beloved cat Baby.

There will be a public visitation from 9-11 a.m. at Wetzler Funeral Service Inc., 206 N Spring St. Bellefonte, Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11 a.m., at the funeral home with Pastor Duane Bardo officiating. Burial will follow at Meyers Cemetery in Benner Township. Plans are being made for a memorial service at Pike Grace Lutheran Church, in Mundy's Corner. Date will be announced later.
