Obituary of Daniel A. Gardner, 46

Daniel A. Gardner January 2, 1969 July 21, 2016 Daniel A. Gardner, 46, of Howard, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born in Bellefonte on January 2, 1969, a son of Paul “Jack” and Beverly Shuey Gardner, of Howard.

Dan was a graduate of Bald Eagle High School Class of 1988. He had worked at The Howard Nursery and at various construction companies. He liked to cook, spend time outdoors and was an avid Penn State football fan. He liked flowers and had a real love of animals.

He is survived by his daughter, Tanya Lynn Summer (Ben Moyer), of Howard; sister, Debra (Dan) Lyons, of Howard; brother, Merrill Gardner, of Howard; niece, Heather (Steve) Moore, of Lamar, nephew, Dan (Rachel) Lyons Jr., of Howard; great nephew, Garrett; and great niece, Brooklyn. He also leaves behind his faithful K-9 companion “Riley”. He was preceded by a great nephew, Ty Steven Moore.

Funeral service will be held on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard, with Revs. Kenneth Stephens and Michael Hoskins officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Howard, at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
