David J. Jozefik, 86, of Moshannon, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born on July 6, 1928, in Clarence, he was the son of the late John and Helen Ludwig Jozefik. On October 8, 1955, in Clarence, he married Betty L. Retorick, who passed away on May 28, 2012.

David attended the Clarence School. He was enlisted in the US Army during the Korean War. For his service, he was awarded the Korean Service Medal W/2 Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

David worked for JH France Refractories, doing many different jobs before retiring in 1994.

David was a founding member of the Mountaintop Christian Missionary Alliance Church. He was a member of the Snow Shoe VFW Post 5644, and the Clarence American Legion Post 813. He lived a simple life. He did not want for too much but would give his family all he could. Since he and his wife were unable to have children, their nieces and nephews were like their children. David loved being in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fan, baseball being his favorite. He enjoyed being with family. He, along with Betty, would cook huge meals for no reason other than to have the entire family come together.
David is survived by a brother, Michael Jozefik and his wife, Esther, of Kylertown and a sister, Margaret Stephens of St. Petersburg, Florida. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by seven brothers; Joseph, John, Edward, Andy, Steve, George, and Edward, and five sisters; Mary Schall, Anna Rogus, Agnes Jozefik, Helen Drake, and Sophie Jozefik.
Memorial service will be on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 1pm at the Mountaintop Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Snow Shoe with Pastor Duane White officiating. Full military honors will be given by the Mountaintop Honor Guard. Burial will be private at the Askey Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special THANK YOU to Tommy Taylor for taking such great care of his uncle over the years.
