Obituary of David V. Hollingshead, 64

David V. Hollingshead, 64, of Belleville, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Tyrone Hospital, Tyrone. He was born April 9, 1945, a son to David and Twila (McEwen) Hollingshead. He was a 1963 graduate of the Huntingdon Area High School. He attended Penn State University. On July 24, 1965, he married Sandra L. Quinn at E.U.B. Church in Huntingdon by the Rev. Donald Coughenour.

He was a member of Methodist Faith. He was also a member of Warriors Mark Wingshooting Lodge and Kennels. He was founder and coach of Stone Valley Boulders Pee-Wee Football team. He worked most of his life in the auto sales industry as a manager in sales. In most recent years he spent his time training working dogs for hunting and performance field trials throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding states. It was a proud moment when he produced a champion, Brooke. He enjoyed sports and was a PIAA umpire.

He enjoyed family time and was always looking for an occasion to have a family gathering. He is survived by his wife; grandchildren, Brook Goss, Darrion, David, and Mariah Walker; great-grandchildren, Jalinn and Mason, all at their Belleville home; his parents, of Huntingdon; one son, Jeffrey L. Hollingshead, of State College; one daughter, Chris D. Kichman and husband, Patrick, of Hopewell; grandchildren, Morgan and Connor Kichman, of Hopewell; one sister, Judy McCracken and husband, Ronald, of Huntingdon; and one brother, Robert "Dan" Hollingshead, of New Albany. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Chris David Hollingshead and a daughter, Sherry Lee Hollingshead.

Friends will be received after 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2010, and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service, Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, 1106 Mifflin Street, Huntingdon. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 10, 2010, 11 a.m., at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Cartwright officiating. Burial will be in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Huntingdon.
