David Zeller Walker, 52, of Montville Township, Medina, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at Medina General Hospital. He was born May 23, 1957 in Springfield, Ohio to Roger and Julie (nee Zeller) Walker.

David graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in June, 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics. He received a Masters Degree in Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology from The Ohio State University in Dec., 1982. He began his career in the Middle Atlantic Milk Market Administrator's office as a marketing specialist in 1979. In 1990, he became the Middle Atlantic assistant market administrator, and in 2001, he was appointed as the market administrator for the Mideast Order in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a Youth Hockey Coach for the Northern VA Hockey Club from 1987 through 1998, where he also acted as their Treasurer from 1988 through 1992 and as their President from 1992 to 1993. David left the Northern VA Hockey Club to begin a High School team at the T. C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Va., which he coached from 1999 through 2001.

He is survived by his much loved wife, Wendy (nee Olson); parents, Roger and Julie, of Fayetteville, Ga.; children Eirik and Alexandra Olson; siblings, Wesley (wife Diane, of Huntington, W Va., Kent (wife Jill), of Coto de Caza, Calif., Jon (wife Helen), of Falls Church, Va., and Wendy Tenney, (husband Joseph), of Fayetteville, Ga.; father and mother-in-law, George and Jonelynn Olson, of State College; sister-in-law Kirsten (husband Robert) Leitzinger, of Boalsburg; and special nieces and nephews, Kristen, Elizabeth (husband Chris), Jason (wife Molly), Ryan, Alyssa, Mariah, Jesse, Annamae and Henry. He will also be missed by his beloved dog, Sophie.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (Corner of Route 18 & River Styx Rd.) Medina. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. also at Carlson Funeral Homes.
