Obituary of Dennis E. Bair, 68

Dennis E. Bair, 68, formerly of Madisonburg, passed from this life on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Harrisburg.

Born on April 28, 1946 in Lewistown, Dennis was a son of the late Marvin E. Bair and Dolores M. Bair of Madisonburg. He was a 1965 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School. Upon graduating, Dennis enlisted in the U. S. Air Force where he served his county during the Vietnam Conflict. After arriving back home, Dennis was employed in the Office of Physical Plant at Penn State University where he retired as a supervisor in the HVAC unit with 35 years of service.

Dennis attended Faith Alive Fellowship. He loved the outdoors and spent a lot of time at the family cottage in Canada where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved to ride his motorcycle, watch auto racing on television and he especially loved to attend Grange Fair.

In addition to his mother Dolores, Dennis is survived by his former wife, Shirley Van Horn Bair of Smullton; two daughters, Tamara B. Shuey (Tim) of Centre Hall and Katelen D. Bair of Coburn; one son, Michael D. Bair (Jamie) of State College; three grandchildren, Mitchell and Eric Shuey and Brooklyn Bair. Also surviving are siblings, Darla M. Boob, Marvin G. “Ted” Bair (Linda), David L. Bair (Cindy), and Mark W. Bair (Kim) all of Madisonburg and Samuel E. Bair of State College.

In accordance with Dennis’s wishes, there is no public viewing, however, friends will be received on Monday, August 4 from 10-11 am at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim, followed by the funeral at 11:00 am with Pastor Chris Korn officiating. Dennis will be laid to rest in West Central Cemetery in Madisonburg.
