Obituary of Dolores Dershem, 80

Dolores K. Dershem, 80, of Bellefonte, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012, in North Fort Myers, FL. Born August 22,1931, in Clearfield,she was the daughter of the late Emmett and Anna (Frye) Knepp. On February 19,1959 she married Glenn C. Dershem, in Mifflinburg, who survives at home.

Dolores was a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School,Class of 1944. She was a Public Relations Representative for Bell Telephone in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Along with her husband, she was the owner/operator of Western Auto and ran the family business Dershem’s Sport Center in the Nittany Mall.

Along with her husband, Glenn, she is survived by her two sons; Steven and his wife Bonnie, and Jeffrey. She is also survived by one grand-daughter, Alexis, and a sister, Joyce Pringle, of Pleasant Gap.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Rodney Knepp.

Dolores loved spending time with her grand-daughter. She enjoyed traveling and vacationing in Florida, hunting and the outdoors.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at 2:00 pm, at the Trinity United Methodist Church,128 W. Howard St., Bellefonte, PA 16823 with Pastor Brian Vasey officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 pm, prior to the service, at the church.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
