Dolores Parsons, 87, of State College, died Friday, April 28, 2017, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center.

Dolores was born February 21, 1930, in Nanty Glo, the daughter of the late Miles and Velda Watson Altimus, and the widow of Paul W. Parsons who preceded her in death in 2007. Additionally, Dolores was preceded in death by her three siblings and eight siblings-in-law.

Dolores and Paul were married February 21, 1947 after he completed his World War II service. They lived their nearly sixty years of marriage and family, in Pine Grove Mills as members of the Pine Grove Presbyterian Church. Following Paul's death in 2007, Dolores lived amongst great friends at The Village at Penn State.

Dolores retired from MuRata Electronics after thirty-two years, completing her career as a supervisor within quality control. While working and raising children, she still always traveled with Paul as Reunion Association Members for his 70th Army Division, including revisiting France and Germany where he had served. Dolores was a lifelong sewing enthusiast who learned her craft from her mom and grandmother.

Dolores steadfastly remained committed to the enjoyment of her family and is survived by children Brian (Wanda) Parsons of Spruce Creek, Sherry Skelton of Bellefonte, and Danielle (David) Makin of Washington State; brother-in-law, Stewart Williams; sister-in-law, Rachael Parsons; and many favorite nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, all whom were graced with her enduring humor. She maintained close family ties via internet, keeping up with the comings and goings of a large extended family of young people, all whom she kept track of.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St. State College.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Koch Funeral Home with the Reverend Carl Campbell officiating.

Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
