Donald A. Ludick, 84, of Bellefonte, passed away Tuesday Oct. 6, 2009, at home.
Born Nov. 9, 1924, in Bellefonte, he was a son of the late Joseph Ludick and Mary Kresovich Ludick. On June 17, 1950, he married Shirley Brown, who preceded him death on Feb. 15, 2009.
Don was a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School Class of 1945 and was an accountant. He was a sergeant in the US Army. For his service he received the Bronze Star Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theatre Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was a member of St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the American Legion Post #33, of Bellefonte, Veterans of Foreign War Post #1600, of Bellefonte, Knights of Columbus, of Bellefonte, and life member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks #1094, in Bellefonte.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Armstrong (Richard), of Las Vegas, Nev., Kathy Surovec (Andrew), of Mill Hall; one sister, Dorothy Walker, of State College; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Donald J. Ludick, in 2001, and one sister, Mary Powell, of Butler.
A public visitation will be held at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc, 206 N Spring St Bellefonte, Friday Oct. 9, 2009, from 6-8 p.m.
A Wake service will be held Friday at 7:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in Bellefonte with Father Neil R. Dadey officiating.
