Donald W. Gilmore, 64, of Bellefonte, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016, in the arms of his loving wife at home. Don spent every day living a life of faith, praying, reading his Bible and devotions. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and looked forward to his home in Heaven.
Born March 11, 1951, in Chestnut Hill PA, he was the son of the late Doris Grimmer Gilmore and Russell Gilmore who survives in Norristown, PA. On June 16,1973, in Centre Hall, he married Mary Youngberg Gilmore who survives at home.
Donald was a graduate of the Springfield High School in Montgomery County.

He owned and operated a home remodeling business for 27 years, and was the Chairman of the Centre County Home Show for 19 years. He also formerly served as the president of the Centre County Builders Association.

Donald was a member of First Baptist Church in Bellefonte, former trustee of Men for Missions, and Chairman of Helping Hands.

He was also a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge #1094, a past member of Nittany Country Club.

Along with his father and wife, Donald is survived by his two daughters; Jennifer Jewell and her husband Michael, Jr. of Bellefonte and Moriah Gilmore and her husband David of Bellefonte, his father's wife Pat of Norristown, two brothers; Russell D. Gilmore and his wife Ruth of Arizona and Jeffery Gilmore and his partner Karen Leisey of Reading, and four grandchildren; Archer Jewell, Nathan Jewell, Xavier Gilmore, and Lily Gilmore. Sisters in law Mae Youngberg of Bellefonte and Carol Beman and her husband Roy of Florida.

He is much loved and will always be remembered by all his friends and family, who all look forward to one day being reunited with him in Heaven. He will be most remembered by his joy for life, his giving spirit and generosity in helping others, his outgoing personality, and his sense of humor. We invite anyone who knew Don Gilmore to join us in celebrating his life at his memorial service. Memorial Service will start with receiving friends at 10 AM on Saturday, February 6, 2016 in the main auditorium of First Baptist Church, 539 Jacksonville Road, Bellefonte, followed by a Service at noon with Rev Greg Shipe officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mary Gilmore, 110 Grouse Hollow Road, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
