Donald M. Holderman, 89, of Bellefonte, passed away peacefully at Centre Crest on Friday, November 25, 2016. He was born on March 13, 1927 in Bellefonte, the son of the late Emery and Mildred Tierney Holderman. In 1948 he married Phyllis Jean Fleck of Bellefonte who preceded him in death on February 12, 2014.

He attended Bellefonte School. He was a World War II veteran having served with the Army in the U.S.F.G.C. in France, Germany and Austria, then he was assigned to Headquarters Co. 3rd U. S. Army. He was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal E.A.M.E. Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.

He worked at Cerro in the Tool & Die Department for 40 years and 9 months.

He was of the Methodist Faith.

He belonged to the Bellefonte American Legion Post 33, the Bellefonte Loyal Order of the Moose #206, the Bellefonte Elks Lodge #1094 and was Past Commander of the VFW Post #1600.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Jay) Coder of Howard; his sons, Thomas (Donna) Holderman of Pittsbugh, Randall (Terri) Holderman of Bellefonte, Joseph (B.J.) Holderman of State College, Donnie (Gwen) Holderman of Bellefonte and Robert (Lori) Holderman of Hublers-burg. Also surviving are his sisters; Janet Tres-sler of Arkansas, Beverly Wilson of Bellefonte and his brothers, Marlin Hold-erman of Bellefonte and John Holderman of Alabama. Also surviving are his fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grand-children.

Memorial Services will be held at the Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes Street, Bellefonte on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Andrew Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Meyer Cemetery where military honors will be accorded. Family and friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
