Doris Eleanor Anderson, 89, of State College died peacefully Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Village at Penn State – The Atrium.

She was born April 23, 1929, in Warren, PA; a daughter of the late Carl and Ebba (Hedlund) Danielson.

On September 18, 1952 she married the love of her life, John G. Anderson, who preceded her in death on September 28, 2006. They were married for 54 wonderful years. They initially lived in San Francisco, CA while John served in the United States Marine Corp; they raised their family in North Syracuse, NY; and they eventually retired in State College, PA.

She loved her family and raising her children. She doted on her grandchildren and was proud as they have become fine young men and women. She loved her Lord and had faith of spending eternity in heaven with Him. She played piano, sang, and frequently hummed. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and seeing the beauty of creation.

She spent her final years at the Village at Penn State. Her family wishes to express its heartfelt appreciation for the excellent and loving care she received in their nursing care facility, the Atrium.

Surviving her is one son, Daniel Anderson and his wife Julie of State College; two daughters, Rebecca (Becky) Jones and her husband Paul of Fort Collins, CO, Lois Wilkinson and her husband John of Troy, MI; eight grandchildren (Michelle, Brian, Rachel, Carrie, Elizabeth, Laura, William, and Brittany); her niece Sarah Crowell of Douglassville, PA; a cousin Kerstin Ejeborg in Sweden; and many other nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Charles Danielson, five brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.

A memorial service will be held at Faith Baptist Church at 647 Valley Vista Dr. in State College on Friday, November 23rd at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to The Village at Penn State, Faith Baptist Church of State College, or the American Red Cross of Centre County.
