Obituary of Doris Shady, 90

Doris E. Shady, 90 of Lock Haven, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Haven Skilled Rehab and Nursing Facility. She was born in Curtin Twp., Centre Co. on August 22, 1922. A daughter of the late Franklin Ambrose & Florence Blanche Oyler Daley.

She married Kenneth Paul Shady who preceded her in death on October 7, 1988.

Doris graduated from Johnsonsburg High School. She had worked at Sylvania & The Sale Barn in Mill Hall and along with her husband owned and operated the Shady Store in Blanchard. She was a member of the Orviston Bible Church and had attended the Blanchard Church of Christ.

Doris is survived by two sons; Kenneth Gregory Shady and wife Peg and Halaran "Hal" Scott Shady and wife Connie all of Blanchard, three grandchildren; Shane, Brett, and Michelle, and six great-grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by a brother; John Daley and two sisters; Marion Lomison and Catherine Confer.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard with the Pastors Karl Steele and Wally Kocher officiating. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Romola Cemetery in Howard.
