Dorothy (Tootie) Cocolin of State College passed away January 31, 2014, at Hearthside Nursing Home.

She was born August 26th, 1924, in Colver, Pennsylvania, the daughter of James and Mae Clark McCulloch.

Tootie was the mother of five sons: James (Barbara) of Dalton, PA; Theodore (Ted) (Sandy) of Kokomo, Indiana; William (Linda), Kenneth (Mindy) and Thomas Neil (Kathleen) of State College, PA.

She is survived by her sons, 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings and her grandson, Adam J. Cocolin.

Tootie spent all of her working life assisting her husband with every aspect of running businesses in Pennsylvania and Florida, including The Arena Restaurants, multiple KFCs, and several hotels, but her true love was her children and her grandchildren and her puppies. She was famous for family vacations and cruising and her keen sense of good jewelry. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, her love, spirit and generosity.

Because of Tootie’s lifelong love of dogs, the family asks that donations be made to PAWS or any non-kill shelter.

Private funeral arrangements are through Heintzelman Funeral Home. Condolences can be posted on www.heintzelmanfuneralhome.com . A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
