Obituary of Dorothy Ort , 87

Dorothy Louise Ort, 87, of Bellefonte, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at Centre Crest Nursing Home. Born on January 12, 1927, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Lehman and Frances (Detrich) Lyons. She married Howard D. Ort, who preceded her in death.

Dorothy was a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. She had worked as a secretary in the Public Assistance office in Bellefonte.
She is survived by three sisters and two brothers; Alice, Nancy, Henrietta, Bud and Richard, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy had made her home with her niece, Nancy, and her sister-in-law Clare.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Zimmerman, and one brother, Frank “Sonny” Lyons.

A public visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014, from 10-11 AM, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, PA, with the funeral service to immediately follow at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Calvin Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Centre County Memorial Park, College Township.
