Dylan K Crunick, 15, of Bellefonte passed away on Sunday January 26, 2014 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Dylan was born on May 12, 1998 in Sellersville, Bucks County Pa to parents Kristen M (Rovito) and David F Crunick.

Dylan was a ninth grade student at Bellefonte Area High School where he engaged in accelerated curriculum in which he consistently attained high honors. He was a member of the Bellefonte basketball team and enjoyed playing sports with his friends. Dylan was also a student of baseball and anchored the Bellefonte Undines baseball team as pitcher and Shortstop leading them to 2 league championships. He was also a part of the Bellefonte Little League All Star team each of his four years culminating in a dramatic championship win of the District 5 crown in 2011. Dylan went on to play baseball for Bellefonte Teener League, Beimel Baseball, Canes, Evoshield and Chandler Baseball at a National level and played in tournaments in over 10 states. Dylan had a great deal of athletic ability but never stopped trying to improve. He was a young man of character, loyalty, dedication and drive and spent much time helping and inspiring others. Dylan recently developed a passion for flying and playing guitar.

Dylan is survived by his parents Kristen Rovito Crunick and David Crunick and brothers Cooper and Aaron of Bellefonte., maternal grandmother Mary Rovito of Bradford, PA and paternal grandparents John Crunick of Washington, PA and Virginia Crunick of Harmony, PA. Dylan is preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard L Rovito.

A visitation for famiy and friends will be held at the Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes St., Bellefonte on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 4 PM until 8 PM. where a Vigil For The Deceased will be held at 7:45 P.M.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bellefonte on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Father George Jakopac officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Dylan’s name to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute to further research into cures for pediatric cancers.
