Obituary of Edward Stauffer , 79

Edward T. Stauffer, 79, of State College, Pa. passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015 in State College. He was born on October 3, 1936 in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late Elwood and Twila Eminhizer Stauffer.

On January 1, 1959 he married the former Evelyn L. Neale who survives at home. One of Ed's promises to Evelyn was that when he gets to the other side of the moon, he will be waiting for her.

Ed was a Police Officer at Penn State University from 1965 to 1986. From 1988 to 1998 he was Chief of Police in Cripple Creek, CO and from 1999 to 2001 he was a police officer in Victor, CO. Ed was a member of the Bald Eagle FOP Lodge #51 and the Free and Accepted Masons. He served his country in the United States Army. He was of the Mormon faith.

Along with his wife, Ed is survived by his five daughters; A. Lory (Mike) Fullington of State College, Nancy (Robert Cuellar) Stauffer of Reno, Nevada, Rebecca (Bob) Richcreek of Manchester, Tenn., Tammy (Ken) Holtzinger of Julian, and Kelly (Michael) Davis of Minneapolis, MN. Also surviving Ed is his brother, Don Stauffer of Niles, Ohio; his eleven grandchildren; Michael, Matt, Cassandra, Jamie, David, Neale, John, Dominic, Stephanie, Savannah and Sarah; and his four great grandchildren; Bennett, Gavin, Corri, and Gage.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Miles Stauffer and Ken Stauffer and his sister, Doris McDonald.

Services will be held at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring Street, Milesburg, Pa. on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. with his nephew, Ronnie Don Stauffer officiating. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday, December 19, 2015 from noon until the time of the services at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Advent Cemetery, Boggs Twp., Centre Co., Pa. where military honors will be accorded.
