Obituary of Ellen E. Grafmyre, 86

Ellen E. Grafmyre, 86, of Milesburg passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. She was born November 23, 1923 in Spring Township a daughter of the late Sherman and Ella Crawford Lowry. In 1941 she married William B. Grafmyre who preceded her in death April 28, 1972. Ellen was a member of the Milesburg Baptist Church. She retired in 1991 from the Food Service Department of Centre Community Hospital. She enjoyed water skiing, working in her garden and flower garden. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved her family and church. She is survived by a son Richard A. Grafmyre and his wife Donna of Danville, five sisters Virginia Bloom of Bellefonte, Melissa Lose of Bellefonte, Margaret Dunson of Glendale Arizona, Bernadine Bryerton of Lamar and Roseanne Herrier of Tyrone and five grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son William B. Grafmyre, Jr. and a brother Sherman Lowry. Friends will be received at the Dean K. Wetlzer Funeral Home, Milesburg, Friday, March 19, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Milesburg Baptist Church with Rev. B. Jeffery Trawinski officiating. Burial will be in Meyer Cemtery, Benner Township, Centre County.
