Obituary of Ellen Lorene Wance, 64

Ellen Lorene Wance, 64, of Aaronsburg, passed from this life on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on September 5, 1948 in Bellefonte, Lorene was a daughter of the late Dewey E. and Martha E. Keller Wance. She was a 1966 graduate of Penns Valley High School. As a homemaker and young mother, Lorene held many excellent summer yard parties for local children and helped with the 4H Club, Girl Scouts, and teaching Sunday School. Lorene was a talented craftswoman and a skilled seamstress and enjoyed creating new designs for her small business. Lorene loved nature and the plants, trees, and animals that were part of it.

Lorene is survived by two daughters, Sherene Wendy Hess (Mark) of Indiana, and Jennifer E. Beres (Michael) of State College; two sons, Timothy S. Heckman of Millheim and Kristian T. Heckman of Woodward; and five grandchildren, Adam, Logan, Grant, and Gage Hess and Amy Beth Heckman. Also surviving are siblings Marie Wance, Cathy Strassner, Terry Wance (Patricia) and her former husband, Sherwood E. Heckman. Lorene was preceded in death by her brother, Allen Wance, and her brother-in-law, Terry Strassner.

Visitation will be held at the Steven R.
