Elwood C."Skip" Confer Jr., 55 of Mill Hall, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009 at his home in Mill Hall. He was born in Lock Haven on July 3, 1953 the son of the late Elwood C. Confer and Patricia Bowes Confer of Mill Hall.

He married Paula Watkins on November 21, 1980 she survives at home.

Elwood was a graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School. Skip had been employed at the Former Champion Parts & had also worked with troubled youth in Lycoming Co. He coached basketball at Jr. & Sr. high at B.E.N., Sugar Valley, & most recently at Central Mountain. He was a member of the Blanchard Church of Christ. Skip served on the Men's Golf Committee @ Belle Springs. He was an avid golfer, had coached little league and really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Along with his wife he is survived by 1 daughter; Athina (Confer) Metzger (James) of Woolrich, 3 sons; Travis Peters (Paula Keller) of Lamar, Steve Confer (Carol) of Lock Haven, Tony Confer (Heather Weston-Confer) of Jersey Shore. 2 sisters; Wanda Johnson of Tioga & Pam Conklin of Mill Hall. 2 brothers; Terry & Dana Confer both of Beech Creek. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Raymond, Dalton, Blake, Madison, Brayden, Jada, & Cayden. His mother-n-law, Erma Richner of Blanchard.

Visitation will be Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Church of Christ, 161 Beach St., Blanchard from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Russell J. Moldovan officiating. There will be an additional visitation an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Romola Christian Cemtery, Curtin Twp.
