Obituary of Ester Cramer

Esther Virginia Cramer of State College Pa, went to be with Jesus Monday, June 30th, 2014. Esther passed in her home and under the loving care of her family. She was 88 years old.

A life long resident of State College, Esther was born on March 11, 1926, to Russell and Edna Facer. She married Edward H. Cramer of State College, in 1949.

Esther was best known for her bright demeanor and her continual care for other people. An avid bingo player and a regular at the Waffle Shop, Esther cherished every moment spent with friends and family. Nothing brought her joy like her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and most of all, she loved Jesus.

In her early years, Esther owned her own beauty shop on Allen St. Later, she worked in the hospitality industry at several of State College’s most well known restaurants: Mr. Ted’s, South Ridge, and the Nittany Lion Inn.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward; two sons, Michael Allen Cramer and Terry Lee Cramer; parents Russell and Edna Facer; one sister Elizabeth Decker; and one great grand-daughter Kadence Rose Thompson.

Esther is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Donald Thompson; four grandchildren Brandie (Bret) Mavrich of Washington, Pa, Wayne (Nina) Thompson of Minneapolis, Minn, Joe (Ashley) Thompson of New Brighton, Pa, and Ryan Thompson of Quantico, Va; one sister-in-law Mary Cramer; three great-grandchildren, Elijah Thompson, Aniyah Thompson, and Micah Thompson; and her longtime friend, Bertha Parker.

Viewing will be held at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Home,1034 Benner Pike, State College Pa, from 4p.m.-6p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 with a service to follow. The burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
