Ethan “Beef” J. Wolfe, 22, of rural Centre Hall, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 near Rebersburg as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born April 3, 1991 in State College, a son of Juanita Rider Wolfe of rural Centre Hall and the late Harry R. Wolfe.

His special, infectious, heart-warming smile, and his open, carefree personality made him an instant friend to everyone he met.

Beef graduated from Penns Valley High School in 2009, where he was active in FFA, the Penns Valley Marching Rams and the SADD program. He was also a member of the Centre Hall 4-H Ag Club where he showed Market Swine at the Centre County Grange Fair for many years. He was also an active member of the NRA and the National Wild Turkey Federation. Beef had been a farm assistant at Penns Cave and at the Penn State Agronomy Research Farm and also assisted with the operations of the family farm. He was currently a Junior at Penn State University majoring in Agricultural Sciences with a focus in Agronomy. He was also a Brother at Delta Theta Sigma Fraternity, the current President of the Penn State Agronomy Club, and will be pictured in the Men of Agriculture calendar for 2014. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, camping and reading Western books.

Surviving Ethan, in addition to his mother Juanita, are one sister, Emily M. Wolfe at home, four brothers, Jason M. Wolfe and his wife Christina of Riner, VA, Nathan D. Wolfe and his wife Kathryn of Spring Mills, Kaleb R. Wolfe and his wife Krista of Centre Hall, and Aaron W. Wolfe at home; his paternal grandmother, Joyce L. Wolfe of rural Centre Hall; his nieces and nephews, Trent, Faith, Brooke, Evan, Grace, Hope, William, Jack, and Erik; the love of his life Melanie G. Manning of Rebersburg, and his faithful Beagle Rori.

Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2013 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a. m. at the church with the Reverend K. R. Mele officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Union Church Cemetery in Farmers Mills.
