Ethel Mary Green- Decker, 93, of Bellefonte, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017, at Centre Crest Nursing Home. Born on February 27, 1927, in Bellefonte, to the late Bernard M. and Lulu (Johnson) Stover. She was married to Larue Decker, who preceded her in death.

Ethel attended the Bellefonte School System.
She retired from Penn State University in the department of housing. Ethel was a member of Coleville Wesleyan Church in Bellefonte. She enjoyed driving her car and her number one destination was going to New York. Ethel loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is well known for two favorite sayings: “the thing of it is” and “what in the thunder.”

Ethel is survived by two sons; Russell F. Green Jr.(Brenda) of Bellefonte, Carl L. Green (Dorothy) of Stormstown, one daughter, Amy L. Yearick (Russell) of Boalsburg. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was the last of her generation.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Audrey Lynn, one son, Richard Stover, two sisters and five brothers.

There will be a public viewing held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral Services will immediately follow visitation at 1:00pm at the funeral home with Rev. Ronald Kilgus officiating. Burial will follow at Meyer Cemetery, Bellefonte.
