Obituary of Ethel Spicer, 101

Ethel M. Spicer, 101, of Bellefonte, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at her home in Bellefonte. Born on October 15, 1915, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Madeline (McClellan) Meyers. On October 28, 1931, she married William H. Spicer, who preceded her in death after sharing 54 years of marriage together.

She is survived by three sons and three daughters; Ronald E. Spicer of Buffalo Run, Thomas A. Spicer of Ranson, WV, James L. Spicer of Florida, Joanne E. Gill of Bellefonte, Jean M. Bathurst of Bellefonte, and Sandra L. Layton of Bellefonte. Also surviving are two brothers, Russell Meyers of Milesburg and Phillip Meyers of Florida and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty J. Corman, and two sons, Harold David Spicer and William Spicer, Jr. Also preceding her death are six brothers and three sisters.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 10am-12 noon at First Baptist Church of Bellefonte on 539 Jacksonville Road Bellefonte. Funeral services will be held at the church at noon on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 with Pastor Greg Shipe officiating. Burial will follow at Meyer Cemetery.
