Obituary of Evelyn Bailey

Evelyn E. Bailey, 94, of Centre Hall, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born in Newfoundland in Canada, on August 7, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Eunice (Stephens) Hodder.

Evelyn worked for Penn State in the Housing Department. She retired from the University in 1991 with 30 years of service.

Evelyn is survived by two children, Lynda J. Rice (Herman) of Wooster, OH., and Barbara D. Vanada (Charley) of Centre Hall; one grandson, Brian Vanada (Katie) of Spring Mills; and two great-grandchildren, Cullen Vanada and Rowley Vanada, both of Spring Mills. Also surviving is one sister, Ruby Barnes of Ontario, Canada, and two brothers, Malcolm Hodder of British Columbia and Almer Hodder of Newfoundland, Canada.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

She enjoyed spending time with her family as much as possible. Evelyn also did beautiful knitting work.

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
