Obituary of Frances M. Card, 83

Frances M. Card, 83, of State College, died on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. She was born on Nov. 26, 1926 in York to Leonard and Josephine LaMandia Miceli.

She attended York Area Schools and after marriage to her late husband, Angelo N. Card, became co-owner of Custom Shoe Repair in State College. They also owned Travelers Luggage and Gift Shop and were in business from 1966 to 1995. Their grandson, Angelo N. Card II and his wife, Heather, took over the business upon their retirement.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Jo Garrety McGowan and her husband, Thomas B., of Camp Hill, a son, Raymond R. Card and his wife, Mary Jo, of Dallastown, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by a son, Leonard A. "Lee" Card and a granddaughter, Frances Garrety.

Services will be private, at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Pine Hall Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association , 501 Howard Ave., Building D, Suite 101, Altoona, PA 16601. Arrangements by Koch Funeral Home, State College.
