Francis (Bud) H. Yonker, 91, of State College, died Monday, July 30, 2012 at The Atrium at Penn State Village.
Born July 31, 1920, in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late David H. and Ruth (Johnson) Yonker.
On November 10, 1948, he married Elizabeth “Betty” J. Ohs, who preceded him in death on June 18, 2012.
Bud received a BSEE and MSEE from Penn State University and a MS from Pratt Institute in information science. He attended graduate classes in engineering at MIT, and was a Licensed Professional Engineer in PA and NJ. He also was a retired commander, US Navy Reserve.
Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer Carey and Kristen and her husband Kevin Hazen; two grandsons, Christopher Carey and Michael Carey and his wife Melissa, two great granddaughters, Ashlynn and Madison Carey. A special thanks to family friend Phyllis Baker.
There will be no viewing.
Graveside services at Philipsburg Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to State College Presbyterian Church, 132 Beaver Avenue, State College, PA 16801.
