Obituary of Frank Dawson, 61

Frank H. Dawson, 61, of State College, passed away on Thursday September 19, 2013. Born in Summit, New Jersey, Frank spent his early years in Plainfield, New Jersey before moving to Centre County in 1988 to live with his sister Lorraine Spock and her family.

Uncle Frank loved spending time with his family, rebuilding computers and electric bikes, taking care of his cats and dogs, and cooking the best turkey dinner. He always met you at the door with a warm smile and a hot cup of coffee. He loved a great joke, a good laugh, and long peaceful bike rides. He will always be remembered as everyone’s Uncle Frank.

He is survived by and was lovingly cared for by his sister Lorraine and her husband Paul Spock; his nieces and nephew, Wendy Ringel, Paul Spock, Jr., Sara Carlson, Lauren Spock, and their children, Brennan, Samuel, Oliver, Finn, Anna-Faye, Marielle, Molly, and Bennet; and many cousins in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, and California. Frank was preceded in death by his dear mother Bernadina Blazo Dawson and his father Frederick Dawson.

Friends will be received from 1 – 2 pm Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. A memorial service follow at 2pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Strawberry Fields Inc 3054 Enterprise Drive, State College, PA 16801 or the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 101 Villandry Blvd, State College, PA 16801.
