Frank J. Homan, 93, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at the Mount Nittany Medical in College Township. He lived his early years in State College and Centre Hall and went on to reside in Port St. Lucie, Florida where he stayed for 40 years, before returning to Centre Hall. Born on September 2, 1922, in State College, he was the son of the late Merle Fye and Frances Ellen Harpster Homan. He married Ruth Muth Homan, his first wife, Gertrude Carston Homan, his second wife, and Beatrice Homan, his third wife, and all have preceded him in death.

He was a 1940 graduate of the State College School System.

Frank worked as a farmer for most of his life. While in Florida he worked for the News Tribune in Fort Pierce, Florida.

He was a member of a Lutheran church in Port St. Lucie and also a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Boalsburg.

Frank is survived by four children; Frances M. Durkin and her husband Kenneth of Bellefonte, Boyd F. Homan and his wife Jeannie of Centre Hall, Doris E. McKinney and her husband Michael of Wisconsin, and Shirley A. Boldin and her husband Deacon Thomas of Bellefonte, one step daughter, Sandra Williams and her husband Daniel of FL, one sister, Louise Horner of Boalsburg, one brother, Claude Homan of Centre Hall, seven grandchildren; Amy Brandt, Benjamin Boldin, Chad Homan, Todd Homan, Mark McKinney, Daniel McKinney , and Joanna Horn, nine great-grandchildren; Gabriel Brandt, Emily Boldin, Abigail Boldin, Sophia Boldin, Alex Homan, Samantha McKinney, Preston McKinney, Ingrid Horn, and Ethel Horn, two step grandchildren; James Williams and Lee Ann Black, and two step great-grandchildren.

Along with his wives and parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Homan of Eau Gallie, FL, and two grandsons; Bryan K. Durkin and Paul T. Boldin.

There will be a public visitation held Thursday, June 2, 2016, from 10am until 11am, at the Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. 206 North Spring Street, Bellefonte, PA, 16823.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, at 11am, at the funeral home with the Deacon Thomas Boldin officiating.

Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park in College Township.
