Obituary of Fredrick E. Hartman Jr.

Fredrick E. Hartman Jr., 57, of Boalsburg, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born Jan. 1, 1952, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Fredrick E. and Beatrice Putt Hartman Sr. On Sept. 14, 1974, he married Lu Woodring, who survives.

He was a 1969 graduate of State College Area High School. He previously was employed by Confer's Transportation and K-mart, of State College and Altoona, and was currently employed with Firestone Car Care Center, State College, as an automobile technician. Fredrick was active at Brookside Wesleyan Church and Port Matilda United Methodist Church. He was member of Harris Township Lions Club.

Also surviving are a son, Jerry Hartman, of Port Matilda; a daughter, Nikki Muck, and her husband, John, of Pleasant Gap; a brother, Gary Hartman, and his wife, Diane, of Port Matilda; a sister, Mary Frantz, of Julian; and three grandchildren, Audrey and Heather Muck, and Jordan Emely.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Andrew R. Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Port Matilda Cemetery.
