Gerald E. Cain Sr. September21, 1940 – July 29, 2010 Gerald E. "Jerry" Cain Sr., 69, of Bellefonte, died Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born Sept. 21, 1940, in Spring Township, a son of Meariam Tressler Cain, of Bellefonte, and the late George Cain. He is survived by his wife, the former Betty Lou Emel, whom he married April 16, 1966.

Jerry was a 1958 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by Cerro Metal Products for 37 years when he retired Aug. 27, 2005. He was most recently employed part-time by Kwik Fill in Bellefonte.

He was a Christian by faith. Jerry enjoyed being around people; riding his Harley; driving his new truck; working outside in the yard with his flowers,; helping his son, Jerry Jr., coach Little League for 17 years; upholstering in his shop at home for 40 years; and, most of all, spending time with his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survive by a daughter, Tina Carlin and her husband, Bobby, of Snow Shoe; a son, Jerry E. Cain Jr. and his wife, Trina, of Bellefonte; three brothers, Ronnie Cain and his wife, Dorothy, Dick and his wife, Pauline, both of Bellefonte, and Denny and his wife, Laura, of Harrisburg; and three grandchildren, Gracie and Garrett Cain, of Bellefonte, and Tyler Carlin, of Snow Shoe. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Mr. Cain was preceded in death by a sister, Georgette Cain.

Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at the funeral home, with Pastor David W. Gouak officiating. Burial will be in Advent Cemetery, Boggs Township, where military honors will be accorded. Memorial contributions may be made to Nittany Valley Alliance Church, P.O.
