Obituary of Grover Rockey, 94

Grover A. Rockey, 94, of Bellefonte, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Centre Crest Nursing Home. Born on October 9, 1918, in Ferguson Township, he was the son of the late Andrew and Elvira (Garner) Rockey. On July 31, 1937, he married Mary E. Spicer.
He was a retired prison guard from Rockview State Penitentiary.
Grover was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bellefonte.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary, his daughters Joan Fisher and Linda Fulcher, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
He is survived by a daughter, Jane Goshorn of Middletown, a son, Bruce Rockey of Florida, and one brother, Donald Rockey of Bellefonte.
Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. at 12:00 pm, with Pastor Ann Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park in College Township.
