Obituary of Harold Gunsallus, 75

Harold A. Gunsallus, 75, of rural Bellefonte, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011 in Bellefonte. He was born August 9, 1936 in Boggs Twp., Centre Co., Pa, the son of the late Richard and Marie Bennett Gunsallua. He was a member of the Runville United Methodist Church, where he was the Sunday School Superintendent for 10 years. He had his own business, H/G Tax and Accounting in Runville for 53 years. He was a 1955 graduate of Bellefonte High School, and a 1957 graduate of Thompson Business College in Harrisburg. He was a avid Penn State Football Fan. He also loved hunting, along with camping. He was part owner of the Lucky Four Hunting Club in Black Moshannon. He was lifetime member of the NCO Club, retiring from the PA National Guard, Lock Haven, Pa after 23 years of service. He was active in the Moose Association where he earned the Pilgrim Degree. He also was a member of the Milesburg Lions Club, where he moved through the ranks and served as President for a number of years. Harold was married to Jane Hall Gunsallus for 15 years who survives at home. He also is survived by his previous wife of 20 years, Sandra Schriver. He had one daughter, Melinda Sue and one Step-daughter, Linda Hall Giedroc. Three Sons: Richard, Rickey, and Jeffrey Gunsallus, and one step-son, Eugene Lee Hall: One Sister; Mary Hoetzel and one brother: Wayne Gunsallus. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Gunsallus. Harold is also survived by eight grandchildren: Joshua, Casey, Alex, Dylan, Garrett, Kaci Hall, Hunter Hall, and Sophie Giedroc. Funeral Services will be held at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg, Monday, August 29, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Douglas W. Mellott. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, August 28, 2011 from 6 PM to 8 PM. Burial will be in Advent Cemetery, Boggs Twp., Centre Co., Pa. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the Runville United Methodist Church, 1216 Runville Rd., Bellefonte, Pa. 16823.
