Harold M. Biddle, 90, of Boalsburg, died Sunday, Aug. 30, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born May 8, 1919, in Bellefonte, he was a son of the later Lewis and Pearl Musser Biddle. He married Florence Witmer, who died Aug. 12, 2008. They were married for 65 years. Harold served in the Army from 1941 through 1945, and had landed at Omaha Beach in Normandy on D-Day. He was the owner of Harold M. Biddle Construction and built many homes in the State College and Bellefonte areas. Harold was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the State College B.P.O.E. Lodge #1600. He enjoyed hunting and spending the winter in Florida. He loved his dogs, Beauty and Suzie. He raised Christmas trees on his farm.

Harold is survived by two sons, Lewis E. Biddle and his wife, Gail, of Oak Hall, and Jeffrey O. Biddle and his wife, Claudia, of Boalsburg; five grandchildren, Todd Biddle, Jennifer Mrozinski, Mary Katherine Biddle-Newberry, David Biddle, and Rebecca Rohrbaugh; five great-grandchildren, Chloe, Noah, Owen, Ethan and Celia; two brothers, James Biddle, of Centre Hall, and Donald Biddle, of Bellefonte; and a brother-in-law, Robert Witmer, of Boalsburg.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. His funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Brent Book officiating. Burial will be in Boalsburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA, 2451 General Potter Highway, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
