Harry John Wilson died on February 20, 2016 at Mount Nittany Medical Center following surgery for a chronic subdural hematoma on the brain. His wife and children were at his side.

Harry was born in Bellefonte, PA on November 28, 1933, the second of eight children born to Bruce and Carrie Wilson. On March 4, 1988, in Emproia, Virginia, he married Linda (Bohan) Wilson who survives at home. He was married previously to the former Janice Stover. He was preceded in death by his son Christoper Wilson, his brothers Fred Wilson, Jim Wilson, John Wilson and brother in law, Don Blackford. He is survived by brothers; Bruce Wilson (Peggy) of Waynesboro, PA, Robert Wilson (Janet) of Howard, sisters; Mary Blackford of Orlando, FL, and Catherine White (Bogar) of Bellefonte. His surviving children are Evelyn McKee (Dayne) of Milesburg, Teresa Wilson of Milesburg, and Randy Wilson (Alice) of Karthaus. His grandchildren Jeremy Gates, Brad Wilson, Dayne McKee Jr., Kyle Smith, Ben Homan, Gage Wilson, Carrie Wilson, and two great grand-children; Christopher and Jackson Smith and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by sisters-in-laws Beverly Wilson of Bellefonte and Cheryl Simpson and brother-in-law, James Simpson of Jefferson Township, PA.

Harry graduated from Bellefonte High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after high school. He served in the Korean War from 1952-1953 on Kimpo Peninsula on Han River. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal w/two battle stars, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.
He worked for Bell of Pennsylvania for 28 years and AT&T for 2 years he retired as a data technician in 1985. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He was a member of the Milesburg United Methodist Church. He and his wife Linda started an antique business after retirement and showed their antiques at Apple Hill Antiques in State College.

He enjoyed hiking, fishing, camping and collecting antiques from his hometown of Bellefonte. He and his wife Linda traveled all over the USA and Canada visiting most National Parks in both countries. They were also avid international travelers and traveled to all seven continents visiting 75 countries.

There will be a public viewing held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, from 6-8pm at 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte and also Wednesday from 10-11am the time of the funeral services.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Reverend Andrew Morgan officiating.

Burial will follow at Schenk’s Cemetery in Howard with full military honors.
