Obituary of Helen C. Albaugh

Helen C. Albaugh, of State College, formerly of Warren, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at Centre Crest Rehab Center. Born Sept. 25, 1922 in Warren, she was a daughter of the late John L. and Ida M. Linder Goal. She married Alvin J. Albaugh, who died July 10, 2003.

Helen attended business school. She was an administrative assistant at Warren State Hospital for 13 years, retiring in 1985. She was previously employed by the Warren Times Mirror Observer as a copywriter and proofreader. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Warren for more than 50 years. She loved to read and travel.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Kenneth J. Albaugh and his wife, Sandra, of Lewistown; her daughter with whom she lived, Susan A. Rice and her husband, Dr. David "Mike" Rice, of State College; seven grandchildren, Whitney Hachem, Brian Albaugh, Alicia McFalls, Daniel Albaugh, David Rice, Dr. Lyndi M. Rice and Shawn Albaugh; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Her funeral and committal service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Looney officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Warren, at the convenience of the family.
