Obituary of Helen E. Blaker Kane , 84

Helen E. Blaker Kane, 84, of Lititz, passed away Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at Luther Acres. She was born Jan. 6, 1925 in S. Williamsport, the daughter Charles E. and Rosa E. Ertel Blaker. Helen was the wife of the late Col. Stuart E. Kane, Jr. with whom she shared 29 years of marriage.

She was a member of the Covenant United Methodist Church until she moved to Lititz and became a member of the Salem United Methodist church. Helen was a graduate of S. Williamsport High School. In Helen's earlier years she enjoyed swimming, golfing, playing bridge and traveling with her husband throughout Europe and United States.

She is survived by a sister, Clara K. Blaker of Lititz; a longtime friend Eileen Benner of Lititz, a niece Kathy R. Force of State College and many other nieces and nephews. Helen is predeceased by two brothers, Alfred B. Blaker, Charles E. Blaker and a sister, Alice B. McClintock.

Family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Lancaster Co. Hospice, 685 Good Dr., Lancaster, PA 17604. Relatives and friends are invited to Helen's Life Celebration service on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 beginning with a visitation from 11am until 12 noon at the Maneval Funeral Home, Ltd. "A Life Celebration Home" 500 W. Fourth St. Services will follow at 12 PM with Pastor Gene McCallips officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. www.lifecelebration.com
