Helen Over Wausat, 88, of Pine Grove Mills, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at her residence.

Born on September 6, 1922 in Elyria, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Pearl (Kuhns) Over.

On February 7, 1948 in Lemont, PA, she was married to Harold R. Wausat, who survives at home.

She was a 1940 graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent Ohio, and later attended Bohecker Business College. After moving to State College, Helen worked as a secretary for the Wasson Insurance Agency. She also worked in the office at Hilltop Park in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Helen was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in State College.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Laura A. Wausat and her husband Michael V. Sencindiver of Riverton, NJ, and Leona K. Wausat of Pine Grove Mills; two sisters, Mildred Over of Ohio and Ethel Hunsicker of California; one brother, Claude Over of Oregon; and three grandchildren, Sarah, Andrew, and Benjamin Sencindiver, all of Riverton, NJ. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Elinor Wolford; and one brother, Harold (Ben) Over.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, beginning at 12:00 PM at the Heintzelman Funeral Home with Elder Edward Kimble, officiating.

Private interment will immediately follow the funeral services at Centre County Memorial Park, State College.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Wausat’s memory to the Mount Nittany Medical Center Oncology and Cancer Care Department, 1800 E. Park Ave., State College, PA 16801.
