Obituary of Helene "Bunny" Schollenberger, 81

Helene "Bunny" Schollenberger, 81, of State College, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born July 13, 1929, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Helene Becker Schaab. On Aug. 27, 1949, she married Harry W. Schollenberger, who survives. She is also survived by five daughters, Carol S. Neufer and her husband, Eric, of Phoenix, Ariz., Kathy S. Gimbel, of Huntingdon Valley, Karen A. Schollenberger, of Center Valley, Kim J. Baird and her husband, James, of Pittsburgh, and Susan H. Pettengill and her husband, John, of State College; eight grandchildren, Jared and Ian Neufer, Joy Murray and Jeffrey Gimbel, Matthew and Shawn Baird, and Kaitlyn and Joshua Pettengill; and a great-grandson, Jaxson Murray. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Anne Schoenewald.

Her interest included gardening, needlework, travelling with her husband, and Penn State sports. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in State College.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at the funeral home with the Rev. Bryan Spang officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
